2020 My Ryobi Project Terms & Conditions – ‘Upcycler of the Year’

The My Ryobi Project Competition (“Competition”) is promoted by Techtronic Industries (UK) Ltd (“Promoter”) whose registered office is at Unit 3, Globeside Business Park, Fieldhouse Ln, Marlow, Buckinghamshire SL7 1HZ.

This Competition is open to any UK resident over the age of 18 years at the date of entry and is limited to one entry per person for the entire Competition Period.

Employees, officers and directors of Techtronic Industries (UK) Ltd and its affiliated companies or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the Competition or helping to set up the Competition shall not be permitted to enter the Competition.

Entrants are responsible for ensuring that they are entitled to participate and proof of eligibility may be required and prizes withheld until Promoter is fully satisfied the above criteria are met.

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this Competition; however internet connection and mobile data rates may apply to the entrant. The cost of accessing the Competition website will be dependent on the entrant’s individual internet service provider and shall be the responsibility of the entrant only. Promoter holds no liability towards entrant costs.

By entering this Competition, entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. Entrants of the Competition will be subject to the terms of use of the Ryobi website [https://uk.ryobitools.eu/competition/upcycler-of-the-year/terms-and-conditions/] and entrant personal data will be processed in accordance with the Promoter's privacy policy available at: http://uk.ryobitools.eu/footer-links/privacy-policy as well as any additional entrance instructions that may be posted on the Promoter's website.

The Competition begins from 9:00am on 17/02/2020 and ends at 12:00pm on 20/03/2020 (the “Competition Period”).

Route to entry for the Competition and details of how to enter are via [https://uk.ryobitools.eu/competition/upcycler-of-the-year/]. To enter the Competition, entrants must upload a minimum of 1 photograph of [their finished, Upcycling Project – e.g. a piece of furniture] and [a written explanation describing their Upcycling project] to the landing page of their ‘Upcycling Project’.

There is one (1) prize:
a selection of the ONE+ crafting range (Annex 1).

The entries will be shortlisted to the top [10] based on the criteria in point 13 and the winner chosen by a public vote.

The criteria for shortlisting will be based on the creativeness, persuasiveness and relevance of the entrant’s photograph and written explanation.

Once shortlisted, the top [10] entries will be and presented on [https://uk.ryobitools.eu/competition/upcycler-of-the-year/] a public vote. The public vote begins from 4:00pm on 20/03/2020 and ends at 11:59pm on 05/04/2020.

The project with the highest number of public votes will be the winner. The winner will be notified via email with the email address provided upon entry, where the Promoter will request a UK delivery address for sending the prize.

If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within fourteen (14) days of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and select a replacement winner.

Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups, syndicates or the like will not be accepted. We will not accept cheating in any form including the use of macros or other automated means of entry, masking of identity by manipulating IP addresses, using any false identity or any other behaviour that falls outside the spirit of the promotion (to be determined at our absolute discretion). Any entrant found to be cheating will be excluded.

Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not received, deleted, altered or that are invalid, regardless of the reason.

Promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Competition and no cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of similar characteristics without giving notice.

The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the Competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Any and all copyrights in the submissions will remain with the entrant. However, by entering this Competition, the entrant grants Promoter and its related entities an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to reproduce, publish, post, broadcast, display, adapt and modify the entry in any media within the UK for any purpose and without additional notification, compensation or approval from the entrant or any other party.

Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these terms and conditions without notice at any time. Any changes to the Competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by Promoter. 

The Competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

By entering this Competition, entrants agree to a complete release of Facebook from any or all liability in connection with this Competition. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network.

If any provision of these terms and conditions are held invalid by any law, rule, order or regulation of any government, or by the final determination of any court of a competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid.

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or affiliates will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
