Dedicated to delivering outstanding performance and reliability, Ryobi is leading the way in the lawn and garden power tool market in 2009 as it unveils its latest ranges featuring revolutionary technology and product innovation.
Heavy investment in new product development has led to groundbreaking innovation for the year ahead, including TouchStart™ technology for petrol powered products. A world first, making traditional starter ropes a thing of the past, the revolutionary TouchStart™ powers up at the start of a button thanks to its innovative electronic ignition system.
Powered by a 12v rechargeable battery, TouchStart™ technology ensures an instant response first time, every time – meaning that petrol power is easier to use. The TouchStart™ product range includes the RLT30CET 30cc Line Trimmer, RBC30SET 30cc Brush Cutter, RBC30SBT 30cc Brush Cutter with Bike Handle and RBL30BPT 30cc Back Pack Blower.
Ryobi Lawn and Garden has also developed 4-Cycle Petrol Power – making it the lightest and smallest of its kind, the 4-Stroke Engine removes the need to mix petrol and oil. It also lowers noise levels by 20%, as well as reduces emissions by up to 40%, without compromising on power where it’s needed.
For 2009, Expand-It™ sees the addition of four new attachments including an articulating hedge trimmer, edger, blower and 15 degree angled pruner. Designed to tackle a multitude of jobs around the garden using just one Line Trimmer or Brush Cutter power unit, simply connect any Expand-It™ attachment and within seconds you will have a brand new garden power tool. Taking up a fraction of the space needed for conventional tools, Expand-It™ is a cost effective solution with no need to purchase complete garden tools.
Ryobi Lawn and Garden has also introduced further innovation to market with its innovative new AC/electric line up. Easy to store, eight new products will be added to the range, including the 300w folding line trimmer, and the first to market extendable 720w pole pruner and 400w pole hedge cutter.
Allowing gardeners to choose the power to suit their needs, the One Plus range has been further enhanced to offer a new addition in battery options available. Compatible with every tool in the One Plus range including power tools and offering superior performance to the standard 18v NiCad unit, users can now choose from the ultra powerful 18v (2.4Ah) Lithium-Ion battery or the brand new 18v (1.4Ah) Lithium-Ion Compact battery. Weighing in at just 0.46kg, the smaller battery option is 45% more compact and 40% lighter than the 18v (2.4Ah) Lithium-Ion battery.
Other new additions to the Ryobi Lawn and Garden line up for 2009 include 20 new products, including new pressure washers, chainsaws, electric line trimmers.
Adam Morley, Director of Marketing and Product Management for TTI, commented: “We have invested a lot of time and money into innovation for 2009, and are confident that garden enthusiasts will be suitably impressed by our new range of products, particularly feeling the benefits of the revolutionary TouchStart™ technology.”
